Helping others - in dads memory

Created by tim 4 years ago

As we approach dads anniversary in passing (4th Feb 2017), i thought it timely to state that I was so privileged to have been able to activate friends, colleagues and family to raise awareness and important funds in the battle to solve the diseases that took dad away from us in the last 10 years of his life.

The company i work for matched the amounts donated (that i knew of) into our Impact scheme and we had some fun night(s) along the way in raising our glasses to those suffering and those who have left this world in their honour.

We had no way of matching the funds donated here, however lots of people raised additional awareness and fund raisers in 2019 and we are thinking about what to do in 2020.

Its an odd thing that 3 years on i'm starting to watch a turn of events in Cricket Test matches especially and the odd Man U game and feel the urge to chat with dad.  My memories of him in good and indifferent health are mixed and the photos shared on this site have helped me remember him in his good days.

If you want to learn more about the relationship between teh diseases and the funding around the world see here. https://www.alzheimersresearchuk.org/grants/race-dementia-fellowship/

I think i posted about Sir Jackie Stewart and Race Against Dementia being the vehicle of change in awareness and action to solve this.

Thank you all again - i know some of dads friends have now joined him in another life, so i hope you're having fun :)
